A Bride & Her Father

As you know this was my first year photographing weddings. One thing I’ve realized after doing a few of them now is that I get to witness some very special moments when no one else was around. One of the most special moments is often shared between no one, except the bride & her father. In the back of the church. After everyone else has walked down the aisle. Leaving only the two of them by themselves until they are ready to appear at the back of the church and make their grand entrance as the Father walks his “baby girl” down the aisle. I stood back, from a distance, and watched this Father get down low, look in his daughter’s face and whisper some wonderful words. I don’t know what they were. But she shed some tears. The church is quiet. The audience waits patiently. All while this takes place. And I was able to capture it.

Jason & Letha’s Wedding

I had the pleasure of photographing Jason & Letha’s wedding this past weekend. There was a threat of rain the entire time, but luckily it held off and they were able to hold a nice outdoor ceremony. It was fun getting to know this couple on their special day. They had a very busy weekend too….their wedding on Saturday and their baby shower on Sunday. A season full of exciting changes for these two! Congratulations to you both. And the rest of you may get to see some future pictures of them too. I can’t wait!

Here are a few great images taken from my 2nd shooter, Sara. She captured some great ones to add to what I took that day. Thanks, Sara!

Marcia & Joe’s Wedding

Marcia is my cousin and I was honored that she asked me to photograph her & Joe’s wedding! So, not only was I the photographer, but I also took video to make a wedding movie for them and I was a guest (I even found time to take care of one my boys when he got sick during the reception). So, it was a very full day. I was with them for about 9 hours. I walked away with some incredible shots & footage for them! Congratulations Marcia & Joe and thanks for letting me a part of your very special and perfect day!

Enjoy some of my favorites from the day.

Tom & Joyce’s Wedding

I had the opportunity to photograph my first wedding this past weekend (and I also am photographing 3 more weddings coming up this season too!!). I LOVED it! I had never met Joyce before, but she told me she had seen my work in the past and knew she wanted me. I was so honored! It was held at a gorgeous venue, The Whitney in downtown Detroit.

So far, the hardest thing for me has been deciding what pictures to post. Formal portraits, family & weddings party portraits, details pics, outdoor pictures, indoor pictures, ceremony pictures, candid moments, etc. I thought it was tough narrowing down favorites from a normal session….a full wedding event is a LOT more pictures! Youzers! So, I’ll start with these for now and will focus mainly on the bride & groom, and Tom’s daughter, Ciara.

Congratulations Joyce & Tom! And thank you for letting me be a part of it. It was beautiful, as were both of you!

Deliciously Home-Made

My models for this job did not move.  I could pose them anyway I wanted.  They sat quiet.  And stared back at me.  They quietly whispered to me “Eat me, eat me, you know you want to”.   I reply, “Yes, oh delicious treats I do want to eat you, but first I must photograph you in all your glory and make others want you as bad as I want you.”

When Kim from Deliciously Home-Made asked me if I would photograph some of her specialities my first response was “Yes, and will I get to keep the products to taste test after I’m done?”  And yes, I did get to taste test these and they are SOOO good!  To visit Kim’s website click here.  She makes cake pops, brownie pops, covered pretzels, covered cookies, and amazing decorated caramel apples.  Have you ever had a cake pop?  Oh my goodness…you must!   And yes, she delivers her products through the mail as well.

These pictures will be used to feature Kim’s business in a magazine publication called Metro You.  The columnist is featuring Kim’s wedding line of home-made goodies as “one of her favorite things”.  Hmm, I wonder which picture(s) they will choose?  I will let you know when the edition comes out in March!  Keep in mind that Kim makes all different kind of colors & toppings depending on what holiday or event you are ordering for.  Check her out and tell her I sent you!
