Getting to Know Your Photographer

Yep, me, your friendly photographer. So, you know I have twin boys because I post pictures of them often. But, how much more do you know? I bet you’ve never even seen a picture of my husband, Dave! Well, here’s a little glimpse into my wonderful family I thought I would share. This is my entire immediate family. This isn’t a professional picture, but a perfect picture to us, nonetheless. This is a snapshot taken this past week while we were all together at a family event. It’s my husband Dave & I, our combined 7 kids, a daughter & son in law married into our family, and our 3 grand-children.

6 Weeks & Counting

While in Utah I was able to have a maternity session with TJ & Kim, my nephew & niece in-laws. They are super excited about being first time parents and with only 6 weeks left to go they are starting to count down the weeks and days. We met early in the morning to try to beat the heat (notice I’m mentioning the Utah heat again….it was soooo hot there (compared to what I’m used to in Michigan, that is!)).

Congratulations again, TJ & Kim, and good luck with the birth of your baby boy. Kim, you look beautiful! And you both seem so happy. Your baby is lucky to have you as his parents. With any luck I’ll be back to take some newborn pictures of baby Jackson this Fall. Love you both.

(Below) Hand-made knitted cowboy booties made with love by the Grandma-to-be (my sister-in-law)!

Every wonder how I get some of the angles that I get? Well, TJ thought it would be funny to show you. It was HIS idea to snatch my camera and take this picture of me & Kim in the tree. Yep, I climbed the tree to get the picture above with the angle looking down on her. I do what I have to do. That’s why you won’t find me in dress clothes & heals when I shoot.

August Sessions

Hello again, from vacation out here in HOT Utah! Boy, is it hot. I think everyone who lives here has heard me say that about a zillion times.

My August sessions are filling up fast and it’s shaping up to be a busier month than July was for me. So, if you are interested in booking a session in August, please contact me as soon as you can so we can get you scheduled. You can email me at email@rememberwhenphotographybykristi.com

I will call you back by the end of the week, after I return from vacation, if not sooner.

I’ll leave you with a picture of a little cutie that I got to meet while here in Utah. Kayia took an instant liking to me and she was such a little sweetie!

More Senior Fun

You didn’t think that I’d stop working or blogging simply because I’m on vacation this week, did you?

Remember Kristyn’s senior pictures from last week? Well, this is Part 2. We ran out of time on her first session and were battling with the Ann Arbor Art Fair crowds, so we got together again on a different day to have some fun in the alley. She looks just as great as she did last week! Here are a few of my favorites.

Now for my jumping challenge. The last senior, Carly jumped pretty darn high! How high can Kristyn jump?

Not bad Kristyn! Great mid-air pose too! LOL. Ok, her brother came along with us this time. Ryan decided to show his big sister how it’s done. Ryan wins. Look how high he is!

A Senior with Style

Another stunning & stylish High School Senior!  Carly and I had a blast romping around town, stopping at several locations, changing clothes wherever we could find a corner and braving a very scary abandoned barn where I almost fell through the ground (we wondered what was buried under the wood that covered the large hole in the ground!!).

I’d say that I’m posting my favorites from the sessions, but these aren’t my only favorites.  There were too many favorites for me to choose from.  So, he’s an overload of some of my favorites!

I had a great time with you, Carly!  Good luck in your senior year.  Mary, I hope you are thrilled with these pictures of your daughter, she’s a great young lady!

Yes, the sun flare in this picture below was on purpose. Cool, huh? Something about a crazy scary abandoned barn that made me want to make a cool photograph.

Wow, Carly, not only is this picture hilarious, but you got some serious air!! The challenge is on to see if anyone else can beat her with the highest jump in the alley. We ended our session with this picture. Cracked me up! I’d say she’s showing that she’s happy to be done, but considering that she’s a captain of the Pom Pom Squad (did I say that right?) I’d say she just has a jump like this always inside her ready to to come out!
