Joe & Peg’s 45th Anniversary

I had the honor of photographing a wonderful 45th anniversary event for Joe & Peg. They are the parents of Joyce & Tom, whose wedding I photographed HERE. It was such a pleasure to see this family again for another happy occasion. Joe & Peg celebrated their 45th anniversary at a private club in Bloomfield Hills and it was a gorgeous event.

Congratulations Joe & Peg! Here are a few of my favorite family portraits, which we did prior to the event.

I couldn’t resist grabbing their two youngest grandchildren and getting a shot of each of them.

Having a Boy

Remember I photographed the wedding for Jason & Letha HERE and I mentioned that you’d be seeing them again soon. Well, here they are! 27 day more days and counting. I love how they were both wearing blue. Quite fitting since they are having a baby boy. (By the way, look how perfect she matches my blog!!) Congratulations (again) Jason & Letha!

I love this first one of you, Letha! You are beautiful!

Baby Owen

You get to watch this little guy grow up along with me! He was in Mommy’s belly at their maternity session here. Then I photographed his newborn pictures here. And now you get to see baby Owen at 3 months! (And yes, they’ve told me I may be lucky enough to continue to his pictures in the future again!)

Owen was full of smiles and such a content baby! And it wasn’t until I was editing these pictures that I realized he has perfectly smooth skin, which is great at 3 months!

And big brother Andrew was there to jump in and make a picture perfect brother picture again (same as he did last time!). By the way, isn’t the yawning picture above the BEST? So sweet!

Seeing Double

I guess I love photographing twin boys because it reminds me of my own twin boys. Only my boys are not identical. They barely look like brothers. These guys, on the other hand, are identical. Which makes proofing & editing their pictures an interesting challenge. It was tough to tell who was who. But, I think I have these right. If not, Julie will have to correct me! Because as every mom of identical twins says, they have no problem telling them apart!!

First up is Charlie:

And now it’s Nolan’s turn:

And some of them together. See, told you they were identical!!

And, the last picture of the day. They obviously were sick of me & my camera….and hungry and tired. I almost deleted this one, and then I decided that these kind of faces will be priceless for us years from now. So I decided it was a keeper after all.

A Bride & Her Father

As you know this was my first year photographing weddings. One thing I’ve realized after doing a few of them now is that I get to witness some very special moments when no one else was around. One of the most special moments is often shared between no one, except the bride & her father. In the back of the church. After everyone else has walked down the aisle. Leaving only the two of them by themselves until they are ready to appear at the back of the church and make their grand entrance as the Father walks his “baby girl” down the aisle. I stood back, from a distance, and watched this Father get down low, look in his daughter’s face and whisper some wonderful words. I don’t know what they were. But she shed some tears. The church is quiet. The audience waits patiently. All while this takes place. And I was able to capture it.
