Mother’s Day Tea

The boys preschool class put on a Mother’s Day Tea on Friday for all the mom’s. The teachers did a great job of making it special for the moms, as well as the kids. The kids sang 3 songs about mother’s to us, which were really cute. The boys had been practicing the songs in the hot tub with Dave the night before.

After the songs the kids lined up and served their mom’s a brownie. I can’t tell you how excited Brady & Tyler were about this part. Honestly I don’t remember them giving me a brownie at the same time, but it was a source of discussion about how twins would do it when there is 2 kids and only 1 mom. I later asked them if they served it to me together and they said they did.

We ended up the time by playing outside on the playground together. And I don’t mean the mom’s sat down and watched them, the kids all wanted the mom’s to actually play with them on the playground. That must have been part of the scheduled plan too.

On the way home Tyler said “Mom, I could tell when I walked in and saw how special the room looked that I knew it was going to be a special day”. And Mrs. Keller told me that Tyler said to her “I think everyone looks so great today, especially me (saying about himself).” And both Brady & Tyler said many, many times “This was the best day ever, Mom!”

And this is Mrs. Keller and Mrs. Presidio…..wonderful teachers!

Concert Date Night to End the Utah Trip

On our last night of our 9 day trip to Utah Aubrey & Lance took Dave & I on a date night to see a rooftop concert in downtown Provo. I really enjoy my friendship with Aubrey. I met her exactly 8 years ago this month and our relationship has grown over those years. We actually have many things in common such as being creative, playing the piano and flute, scrapbooking, photography & movie making, starting a self-taught business, the love of many of the same TV shows, and plenty to chat about our young kids. I am so glad to have her in my life and as a good friend and family member.

Ok, back to the date night. We always do things as a family and with kids, so this was a first for us to go out just the 4 of us. What a great idea! We ate some yummy grub at a quaint little restaurant and then had a great time watching the concert on top of a parking garage roof. Umm, can you see that view? The mountains! It’s gorgeous out there!

This next picture is really exciting. Do you remember the movie that I made for my friend Jackie’s little girl Kennedy one year ago as a surprise for her 4th birthday? The song was “Whole Wide World” and the singer was Mindy Glenhill. I LOVE her voice & her music. Well, she was there!! And Aubrey had the guts to take me up to meet her. Aubrey actually had a music writing class with her in college so we chatted with her for a bit and took pics with her. (And then Mindy even left a comment on my Facebook page which made me really giddy!!!)

Zoooooo

While we were in Utah we decided to go the zoo one day. Aubrey & I were both equipped with our cameras, which means we have a bazillion pictures between the two of us. Somehow I narrowed all the zoo pics down to these….and there are plenty. Can you tell how much fun the 4 boys have together????

More Misc Utah Pics

One afternoon in Utah I met some of the “ladies” at an indoor amusement park place for all of the kids to play. Aubrey, Kim, Stacie, myself & Donna, my mother-in-law enjoyed visiting with each other and the kids certainly enjoyed the rides! I try to see the extended family as much as I can when we are out there visiting. Kim & Stacie are two that usually are quick to make plans to visit with me, so that’s always fun to see them.

After the indoor amusement park, Kim & I ran over to Wheeler Farms to take a few pics of her kids, Jackson & Emma. Brady & Tyler had fun playing with Jackson (we also went to visit them another day at their house).

On a different day, the boys and I had about 2 hours of free time so we went to Liberty Park in downtown Salt Lake City. They have a great kids play area, and a splash pad as well. It was warm enough that the boys wanted to get wet, so I let them. Which means they had a ride home in the car half-naked. :)

Annika & Landon’s Birthday

Since we were in Utah and about half way between Annika’s 9th birthday and Landon’s upcoming 6th birthday, we decided to have a little birthday celebration with them. It’s so much more fun to give gifts in person and celebrate with kids rather then mailing packages. We gave Annika a pair of roller blades she has been wanting….and a hex bug world thingy to Landon.

They are really fun kids. Annika is turning into such a young lady….she’s so helpful, kind and the past couple of visits she has been dishing out some extra attention and hugs to me. Landon has changed over the past year….he’s reading now and has a big interest in sports. I mean big! We celebrated Luke’s birthday on our last visit. All 3 of them have so much fun with Brady & Tyler….and vice versa. I have to admit there are many days when I wished we lived closer to them (really love Aubrey & Lance too, more of that in another post).
