Nathan’s With Us This Week

…..And we’re having fun! This post is for Kim since she texted me today to tell me that it’s been a week since my last post. I love that people look forward to my posts. It means all my “wasted” hours editing pics, resizing pics, uploading them to the blog and writing on the blog are not really wasted after all. I follow approx 50 blogs myself and love reading people’s posts….even people I have never met before. The internet is amazing. But we all know that!

Anyway, my 12 year old nephew Nathan is here visiting this week and we’re having a great time. Doing this, that, more of this and more of that….leaving the house at 10am and coming home around 8pm. Oh, and sorry Troy, but he’s staying up with me till after midnight every night. Our routine has become making a fattening snack and watching a movie downstairs until we can hardly stay awake anymore. The unfair part is that I still have to get up at 7:30am with the boys while he sleeps till 9:30am. Hmm..

Anyway, here’s a Nathan, Brady & Tyler. Check out my photo blog for a few more pics of Nathan.

BFF

Cindy, my BFF from college lives in Denver. In college we were inseparable. We were crazy. We shared everything. We know secrets about each other. We lived together. We’ve vacationed together. I have a photo album of pictures of us together that I probably won’t be showing many people (we were young, free and wild, what can I say?) Now we see each other every 2-3 years. We still talk on the phone, email and text. But there’s nothing quite like actually seeing each other.

She was in Mendon, Michigan this week visiting her Mom. Mendon, as is a tiny little city on the Indiana/Michigan border and the majority of her mom’s neighbors are Amish. A horse & buggy towing a BOAT actually clip clopped past the house!!! My camera wasn’t accessible. Anywho, I decided I was up for a day road trip to see her & her boys (her hubby is back home working…missed you, Joe!).

We had a wonderful visit!! Oh, how I miss you dearly, Cindy.

Sorry, Cindy, but you knew this was coming! You didn’t seriously thing I was going to just press “trash” on the 32 pictures we didn’t like, did you? Yes folks, 32 pictures where we didn’t think we were perfect. Yet, all of these together just make me smile….and laugh. So I have to share. By the way, Cole (age 10) took them all!!

And then there’s this one picture that is sooooo perfect I can hardly stand it. I seriously love it. Cindy, I expect a 16×24 matted framed picture of this over your mantle at your house ’cause I know you miss me and love me so. (kiss)

And here’s a “runner up” pic that isn’t too shabby either.

Our boys played so well together while we spent lots of time catching up. We also had a photo session with her boys (at an AWESOME location), which I’ll be posting on my photo blog when they are done. The pics are GREAT! Anyway, here are some pics of the boys together. Cole & Tyler buddied up the whole time. And Parker & Brady did likewise. Funny how they did that the whole day.

Stuff, Stuff and More Stuff

Just a few random things to write about. I took the boys downtown Detroit last week (I know, can you believe it???). It’s an hour drive away for those of you that are wondering. I found this water fountain thing for kids on the Detroit Riverfront and I let them play in it in their clothes. Naked right home. At 5:00 rush hour. Ooops, forgot how much I hate rush hour traffic in the city.

8:30pm
Dave says “hey, Brady & Tyler, do you want to go golfing with me for a hole or two”.
Me thinking “they should be getting ready for bed, but this sounds special, I guess I should just let them do it”.
2 minutes later….Brady & Tyler show up carrying their plastic toy golf bags & clubs (notice them on the back of the golf cart).
They had fun and thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Back downtown Detroit again (if you think that’s amazing, wait till you hear how many other times we’ve gone done there this week….more than I ever have!) Dave bid on Detroit Tigers baseball game tickets in a charity auction. We took Jenn & Aaron on Father’s day. We had seats in the champions club, which meant air conditioning, free food and drinks and seats in the shade. We had a great time!

Utah Fun

Brady & Tyler have a LOT of fun with Annika, Landon & Luke! It’s fun that we are able to visit enough that they all know each other so well. Aubrey, Lance & the kids are coming out here for 8 days in July too! Here’s the 5 kids having some fun while we were in Utah last weekend….

Show us your muscles, boys…..

3.5 Year Old Pics

Thought it was time to get some nice pics of the boys to updated frames, scrapbooks, etc. Oh wait, I’m way behind on my scrapbooks. Ok, well someday I’ll catch up. LOL

Anyway, I’m short on words because I should be in the car leaving for the airport, but instead I’m doing last minute computer things. We’re heading to Utah to visit the family. YEAH!!!
