Welcome to My {blog}

This blog creates a lasting memory of the everyday happenings in our family. And thanks to technology, I get to share it with you! Dave & I share our life with so many family & friends. Our little twin boys, Brady & Tyler amaze us each day as they grow and learn. Aaron and Jenn are moving to Michigan soon! Nich, Zach and Janessa are all in college and working hard in Utah. And Aubrey and Lance live in Utah with the grandkids, Annika, Landon & Luke. On top of taking care of the twins, I have a very fun photography business that keeps me busy and challenged. You can click on "website" or "photo blog" above to visit my photography website & blog if you want to keep updated with that.

So, what does all of that mean? It means that I have a lot of stuff to share with you! So check back often and enjoy!

Braydon’s First Tubing Experience

He thought it was “awesome”. He kept saying that over and over to me every time we went over a bump or out of the wake. Braydon is my other nephew who is here for a week. Nich & Zach come on Friday. An updated count…..we will have family staying with us 37 out of 48 days! WOW!!! It’s so fun!

My favorite part of Braydon’s time here so far was when I said to my boys “Who wants to sit on my lap?” And Braydon quickly said “I will”. And then he said “I don’t really know how to do it, but I will try.” So I showed him how to get cozy on my lap while watching a movie. I set my computer aside and thought that time was too important to not enjoy. He’s a sweet kid!

Anyway, I am behind on lots of other pics I want to post, but Braydon wanted one of these pics as his facebook profile picture so it prompted me to drop everything and work on them for him. So, here’s a few tubing ones of Braydon.

Grandma Adams Went Tubing!!

We had a great visit with Janessa and Dave’s Mom, Donna. It was only a 4 day trip for them, which felt short compared to all the long visits others have had. So it didn’t feel long enough to me! I’ll post more pics (super cute ones of Janessa), but for now here’s a few of Donna (aka, Grandma Adams). Despite the fact that both Donna & Aaron were full clothed, Aaron said “Grandma, do you want to go on the tube with me?” To which she replied “sure!”. Yep, 80 yrs old and she went tubing, fully clothed, bracelets and lipstick on! I’m sure getting off the tube and back into the boat was at the bottom of her fun list, but she loved the tube ride…she even did “tricks” and got up on her knees!

More of Aubrey & Family Visit

And, here are some more pictures, as promised, from last week with Aubrey, Lance, Annika, Landon & Luke. We are still feeling the loss around here. Brady & Tyler are now sitting on the same side of the kitchen table, even when they are the only ones at the table. They miss their table buddies. Tyler & Annika sat beside each other at each meal. And Brady & Landon did the same. In fact, they buddied up like this the entire week. When they left Tyler said “I’m going to miss Annika the most and I wish she was my sister”. To which Brady responded “I’m going to miss Landon the most and he is my ONLY best friend.”

I’m posting these just in time for our next round of guests. Janessa & Dave’s mom, Donna, both fly in tomorrow! Can’t wait!!

A Couple To Get You By

I know, I know…..you are saying “Aubrey, Lance & the grandkids were there for 8 days, where are the pictures???”

Stay tuned. And in the meantime, here’s two pics to keep you happy.

Happy times on the hammock in the backyard. Me and the boys. And a great one of Annika.

Catching Up

Here are a few random things.

I mentioned our week visit with my nephew Nathan. Well, my other nephew Brett stayed with us last week. We had a great time! He learned how to water ski. He was a pro on his 3rd try. By the second day he was going in and out of the wake like he’d been doing it his whole life. He has a natural ability to be good at sports! He’s an awesome football and basketball player for his school teams too. Anyway, Brett is awesome!!

I didn’t take a single snap shot all week. So on our way out the door to bring him home we literally pulled off the side of the road and snapped a few pics. He almost got away without any!

Going backwards I had meant to blog about our 4th of July fireworks experience. Detroit has a huge fireworks show every year on the Detroit River between Michigan & Canada. They shoot of the fireworks from 3 barges on the water. It’s a long and spectacular show. Dave was asked to be interviewed by the TV station immediately following the fireworks so we had passes to the rooftop party right on the water (the parking garage next to the GM building). We were so close to the fireworks that ashes were falling all over us. I won’t bore you with all of my fireworks pics, but here’s one. And then some pics of Dave being interviewed by Chuck Gaidica. It was interesting to see all the live TV stuff while they were recording throughout the show.

Tyler continues to love to go tubing with me. Brady’s not so fond of it lately. Tyler will hold a full conversation with me while we are going 20mph. His discussions include things like: “Mom, are dolphins in the lake?” “No, Tyler”. “Oh, then were do they live, Mom?”. And he decided to kiss me while tubing. Oh good, Jenn had her camera handy.
